The number of girls practicing Kyokushin karate in Armenia has increased significantly in recent years.
The Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia has launched a new program designed for girls. About 100 girls will hold joint trainings in the coming weekend.
Andranik Hakobyan, the president of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia, highlighted the importance of girls’ involvement in sports.
“It is nice to see that the number of girls and women playing sports is increasing in Armenia. We are talking about both fitness people and those interested in the field of martial arts. Our federation attaches great importance to the involvement of girls. Our girls also participate in international tournaments and have won numerous medals for Armenia. Recently, Elen Yepremyan, Elen Margaryan, Mary Harutyunyan, Sharlin Berberyan, Natalie Khachatryan, Victoria Hayrapetyan, Monika Pakulets, Norvard Torosyan and others stand out with good results.
All this is also very important because women have also started to serve in the Armed Forces of Armenia. We have female athletes who have worked in the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Many also want to start a coaching career and share their experience with others,” said Andranik Hakobyan in a conversation with the press service of the Kyokushin Karate Federation of Armenia.
