The Ethics Commission of Congress rejected the recommendations of the technical team of this parliamentary group to suspend the investigations of three complaints against the current head of state, José María Balcázar
The resolutions recommended that the investigations against Balcázar be suspended until he is no longer president of the Republic because, supposedly, the principle of separation of powers was contravened.
The first resolution to suspend the process (Exp. 254-2025-2026/CEP-CR) was for statements about child marriage. It had three votes in favor, four against and one abstention.

In both cases, two votes were obtained in favor, four against and one abstention.
The parliamentary group also voted in the case of Congressman Ilich López Ureña, from Acción Popular, who was denounced for alleged extortion. The technical report recommended declaring the complaint inadmissible and archiving it definitively.
