
Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit is in Antigua and Barbuda to participate in the 78TH Meeting of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Authority, taking place from June 21–22, 2026.
Heads of Government of OECS Member States are convening to discuss key regional priorities, including economic development, regional integration, climate resilience, security, food and energy security, freedom of movement, and enhanced cooperation in areas such as health, education, and digital transformation.
Prime Minister Skerrit will join fellow regional leaders for the Opening Ceremony today, Sunday, during which the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Gaston Browne, will officially assume the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority from the Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Hon. Dr. Godwin Friday.
During Prime Minister Skerrit’s absence from the State, the Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience, and Social Security, Hon. Dr. Irving McIntyre, will serve as Acting Prime Minister.
