The member of the Presidency of the Forum of Women of the European Union, Tanja Vujičić, reacted to the statement of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Vuk Jeremic, who announced that he does not expect the enlargement of the European Union soon.
As she said, before sharing forecasts about Montenegro, Jeremić should answer why Serbia is further away from the European Union today than it was ten years ago.
“While Montenegro remains the most advanced candidate for membership, Serbia continues to face serious issues in the area of the rule of law, media freedom and harmonization of foreign policy with the European Union,” says Vujičić.
If, he adds, the football metaphor is closest to Jeremic, then, he says, it is worth remembering that matches are won on the field, not from the stands.
“Montenegro will play its European match to the end, regardless of those who cheer against it,” said Vujičić.
