The Chinese brand Luxeed, which operates in cooperation with Chery and Huawei, presented a new electric SUV under the name RX.
The model immediately attracted attention due to its design, which reminds many of the Ferrari Purosangue, but also due to the claim that it was designed by the former chief designer of Ferrari.
According to Luxeed brand management, the RX is the work of a recently hired designer who reportedly worked in a leading design position at Ferrari.
However, Ferrari’s PR director for China has publicly requested that the designer’s name be revealed, stressing that the company has not lost its chief designer.
The new Luxeed RX is 5.02 meters long and features modern LED lights, pronounced fenders and a sporty rear spoiler.
Customers will be able to choose between several design solutions of rims and different colors of brake calipers.
The basic version uses a 372 hp electric motor that drives the rear wheels, while the more powerful variant with two electric motors develops a total of 586 hp and reaches a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
The capacity of the batteries has not yet been announced, but it is known that NMC batteries from the Chinese manufacturers CATL and CALB will be used.
Sales on the Chinese market are expected soon, and it remains to be seen whether the car’s performance or the controversy surrounding its designer will attract more attention, reports b92.
