Amir Khan Motaghi, the Taliban’s foreign minister, has spoken in a telephone conversation with Rosemary DiCarlo, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peace Affairs.
According to the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs newsletter, in this conversation, the two sides exchanged views on delivering humanitarian aid to needy Afghans and increasing the effectiveness of the aid distribution process.
The news report states that the Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations appreciated the cooperation and facilities provided by the Islamic Emirate for humanitarian activities and considered it important in the timely and effective delivery of aid.
Also, DiCarlo shared information with the Afghan side about recent developments related to the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) and the ongoing efforts of this organization in Afghanistan.
In the end, the two sides emphasized the continuation of mutual understanding, constructive interaction and expansion of cooperation.
