The Embassy of Afghanistan in Tehran and the Consulate of Afghanistan in Mashhad announced the application of new conditions for the distribution of passports to Afghan citizens residing in Iran.
According to the announcement of these diplomatic missions, passports are currently issued in priority to household passport holders.
In this announcement, it is stated that the process of distributing passports to the holders of the Amish card has been stopped for the time being, and these people can only follow up on their identity documents through the “special identity verification” process.
The Afghan embassy and consulate also announced that people who have a valid birth certificate can apply for a passport.
According to this notification, holders of paper birth certificates that have been approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, as well as holders of electronic birth certificates, will be eligible to apply for a passport.
Afghan diplomatic missions in Iran have asked citizens to check the required conditions and documents and act according to the announced instructions.
