Historical discrediting of Israel in Washington

Moreover, Tel Aviv has damaged its position with its closest ally, and now both left-wing Democrats and isolationist Republicans blame Israel for dragging America into a futile war. In recent weeks, Trump even seems to be furious with Netanyahu.

In this regard, Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders noted from the early days of the war: “President Trump, along with his far-right Israeli ally Benjamin Netanyahu, has started an illegal and premeditated war. “Unfortunately, Trump is gambling with American lives and wealth to fulfill Netanyahu’s decades-long ambition to bring the United States into armed conflict with Iran.” Criticisms against the regime were not limited to the opposition, and from within the President’s party, Tomas Messi, a lawmaker in the House of Representatives, also said: “This is not our war.” Also, Tucker Carlson, a conservative political activist, emphasized: “Everyone knows that the only reason we are approaching war with Iran is because Israel wants it.”

    Uprising against Tel Aviv

Prominent Democratic progressives of the House of Representatives, accompanied by Republican isolationists, made serious criticisms against Netanyahu’s destructive role; For example, Rashida Tlaib stated that Netanyahu needs a wider war in the region in order to maintain his political power inside Israel, and he is deliberately taking steps to bring the American army into the war with Iran as a shield. Also, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez added that when America gives weapons and money to Israel without any conditions, it actually gives the hardliners in Tel Aviv the green light to carry out any kind of tension-inducing action against Iran; with the certainty that if the situation worsened, Washington would have to intervene to defend them.

From the side of the right-wing supporters of the president, Megyn Kelly, the popular host of Maga, said: “No one should lose his life for a foreign country. I don’t think those soldiers died for the United States; They were killed for Iran or Israel.” Prominent conservative podcaster Matt Walsh also wrote on the X social network: “Rubio is telling us outright that we are at war with Iran because Israel has put us under a rock and forced us. It was the worst possible thing he could have said.”

The downfall of the Zionist regime

At the level of public opinion, the state of the regime is not favorable. A Reuters/Ipsos and Marist poll shows that 56 percent of Americans oppose military action in Iran, and the same number believe that this war is more beneficial to Israel than to the United States. Tucker Carlson is a firm believer that this is Israel’s war, not the US’s, and that Netanyahu has pushed Trump to bring America into the conflict, which is anti-America First, and such outspoken criticism has split the Republican Party. In line with this trend, the Quinnipiac survey shows that 53% of voters are against US military action against Iran, and 74% were strongly against sending ground troops to Iran. Also, a Reuters/Yoga poll reports that only 27-34 percent of Americans support the war, and more than 50 percent oppose it. According to a Pew Research poll in April 2026 (one month after the start of the war), only 37% of Americans have a favorable view of Israel, while 60% have an unfavorable view (a 7% increase from the previous year). Confidence in Netanyahu has also reached the lowest level and 59% of Americans have little or no confidence in him. This trend is especially intense among young people under the age of 50 (in both parties).

Damage to the prime minister’s office

Netanyahu spent the political capital, i.e. the collection of credibility, influence and authority of a politician in public opinion and large governing institutions, to convince the American president that the war against Iran can fundamentally change the situation in the Middle East and even bring about a change in the political system in Iran.

In his press conference with the Israeli media on June 15, he claimed that this battle was successful and declared: “We saved Israel from the danger of nuclear annihilation.” However, he avoided addressing the issue of Trump’s understanding with Iran.

In fact, the Zionist regime can no longer count on the support of its ally in this field. The White House helmsman also stated in several exclusive interviews that he is very angry with his former partner for not having any damn tact and common sense when launching the attack on Beirut.

He further described the Zionist prime minister as “a very difficult person” who “should be very grateful to us.” A Zionist official who was previously stationed in Washington told the Economist magazine: “A major part of the problem comes down to the fact that we no longer have the kind of relationship we used to have with the United States; A relationship in the shadow of which the agents of the two countries at all levels talked openly with each other. “Now everything is overshadowed by the relationship between Netanyahu and Trump and their personal affairs.”

The beginning of the end of political influence

For Netanyahu, who has always benefited from the extensive support of lobbies in the United States of America, this development was a nightmare turn. The double pressure caused by the impatience of the American president to get out of the war he started, along with the challenge of the upcoming elections in Israel, completely turned the page. This situation put him in the position of a potential disruptor in the path of a major agreement; An event that can have heavy political consequences for him. James Fishback, a conservative political activist and one of the media figures critical of American foreign policy, a 31-year-old and radical right-wing candidate for the gubernatorial election in the state of Florida, who strongly criticizes Israel and has gained a special place among younger voices online in the “America First” movement, said in this regard: “The Republican Party is on the verge of a major audit of Israel in the Middle East; “A fateful confrontation, the first manifestation of which we will witness in the coming November and in the primary elections just before that.”
