With flowers and tears, Yevgeniis Shuklins, a member of the Lithuanian Seimas who died at the age of 41, a liberal, former famous Olympian, was accompanied to the Visaginas cemetery. According to “Lrytas” sources, J. Shuklins was found unconscious in his home in Zarasu district, near beehives.
On May 31, J. Shuklin’s urn went to its eternal resting place, accompanied by the army honor guard and the band of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Many politicians and members of the sports community came to say goodbye to the parliamentarian.
The news about J. Shuklin’s sudden death was a shock to many. On May 28, the man was found attached to the hives in his farm in the Zarasu district. Ambulances were called to try to revive him, but their efforts were fruitless. The official cause of J. Shuklin’s death has not yet been announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
“Lrytas” writes that the former member of the Seimas probably “caught” the virus on the ship. The MP had been in the hands of doctors several times in the past months due to various illnesses.
In February, he boarded a cruise ship from Florida to the Bahamas with his wife and parents, but the vacation was overshadowed by illness. Politicians suffered from coughs and sore throats, and one day the temperature had risen to 40 degrees.
It was previously reported that some experts consider that the deputy’s death was probably caused by pneumonia – after the illness, a blood clot broke off and caused the accident. However, J. Shuklin’s best friend and business partner, Ivan Homenko, told Mindaugas Augustis, a journalist of the “Delfi” portal, that recently Yevgenii felt well and practiced a lot – he did not feel any consequences of the previous illness.
“He had recovered, played sports, attended training. At least two or three times a week. He didn’t complain about anything, his mood was as usual. Yevgeny generally took care of his health, did tests, checked himself,” said I. Khomenko, who has been friends with J. Shuklin for more than 20 years.
