As part of its current strategic promotional tour in the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, CEO of the Qatar Free Zones Authority, met with Ms. Sandy Ran Xu, CEO of JD.com, to discuss prospects for joint cooperation in the fields of logistics services, e-commerce, and supply chains.
The discussions covered a range of topics of common interest, including advanced logistics infrastructure, storage and warehouse solutions, facilitating trade movement, as well as digital capabilities in supply chain management. His Excellency the Sheikh also toured JD.com’s modern logistics facilities, during which he learned about integrated supply chain management processes, advanced automation technologies, and the technology-based operational model for managing logistics operations. During the visit, the promising possibilities for enhancing cooperation between the two sides were reviewed, which contributes to raising the efficiency of operational processes, innovation, and enhancing regional and international trade interconnection, in keeping with the rapid transformations in the global economy.

These meetings come within the framework of the efforts of the Qatar Free Zones Authority aimed at consolidating its partnerships with major Chinese companies and attracting qualitative investments in vital sectors in addition to trade cooperation. Through its promotional tour program, the Authority continues its meetings with an elite group of business leaders and decision makers within strategic sectors, to review the attractive investment environment in the State of Qatar, its world-class infrastructure, and its competitive capabilities and advantages that make it a strategic platform to launch into regional and global markets.
As trade and investment relations between the State of Qatar and the People’s Republic of China continue to grow, the Qatar Free Zones Authority continues to focus on attracting leading companies capable of contributing to supporting the process of diversification and economic competitiveness of the State of Qatar, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the third national development strategy of the country 2024-2030.
