If, in another reading of autonomy and the weighing of assets at stake, it is understood that there is some constitutional openness, in the name of it and of security against abuse, only aid to suicide and not euthanasia should be considered constitutionally admissible.” The quote is from an article by João Carlos Loureiro, elected this Monday president of the Constitutional Court (TC), in the Bulletin of the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra published at the end of 2023, the professor from this institution had already been co-opted as judge advisor to the Constitutional Court.
