Appreciating the efforts of the US President to support regional peace and security

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, which was held yesterday at Gudaibiya Palace.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Council of Ministers extended the highest congratulations and congratulations to the shrine of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, on the occasion of the approaching new Hijri year 1448, asking God Almighty to make it a year of goodness and prosperity for Bahrain and all its people, and security and safety for the Arab and Islamic nations.
The Council then referred to the call received by His Majesty the King of the country from His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the friendly United States of America, during which developments related to the efforts aimed at reaching a memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and Iran were reviewed. In this regard, the Council welcomed the announcement of a memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and Iran, which includes a framework for negotiation and a ceasefire, as an important step towards reducing escalation and building confidence, leading to a comprehensive agreement that contributes to consolidating security, stability and lasting peace in the Middle East region, and enhances international peace and security.
The Council affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s appreciation for the tireless efforts made by His Excellency President Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, to support regional peace and security in coordination and consultation with the leaders of the countries of the region, and its appreciation for the constructive diplomatic mediation undertaken by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, with the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar, in bringing viewpoints closer and supporting paths of dialogue and peaceful endeavours.
The Council expressed its aspiration to build and prosper, in a way that enhances the paths of comprehensive and sustainable development and prosperity in the region and the world, and to reach a permanent peace agreement in the region that establishes security and peace, guarantees the protection of civilians and civilian and vital installations, and secures international maritime and air traffic.
He also extended a tribute of thanks and appreciation to the Bahrain Defense Force, the National Guard, the Ministry of Interior, and the military, security and civil services, for their vigilance and high readiness in dealing with various developments, in a way that enhances the protection of the nation and maintains its security and stability.
The Council stressed the importance of continuing to enhance military cooperation and coordination and joint defense integration among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in a way that supports their collective security and preserves their development gains.
The Council praised the statement issued by the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Council then followed up on the needs of the regions during the Ashura season, noting the preparations made by the Ministry of Interior and the ministries and concerned authorities in order to facilitate all requirements that ensure the success of the season.
After that, the Council considered a number of memorandums submitted to it by ministerial committees and ministers and agreed to the following:
1. A draft law amending some provisions of the decree regulating the use of groundwater.
2. Charter of the Crimean Climate Alliance.
3. Agreement between the Customs Affairs of the Ministry of Interior and the Central Council for Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) in the Republic of India on mutual recognition of the economic operator programme.
4. The government’s response to a number of proposals by law and proposals by request submitted by the House of Representatives.
The Council also reviewed the following:
1- The work of the fourth regular session of the sixth legislative term of the Shura and Representatives Councils, which reflected the positive results of cooperation between the executive and legislative authorities in the field of legislative and oversight work.
2- Updates on the implementation of the health system’s priorities within the government program (2023-2026), and national committees and work teams.
The Council also reviewed a number of reports on:
1- The results of the Ministerial Council meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council in its 167th session, and the Gulf-Canadian joint ministerial meeting. !
2- Report on the results of the official visit made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Russian Federation.
3- Results of participation in a conferenceILA!Berlin2026.
4- Results of participation in the work of the 114th session of the International Labor Conference.
5- Calendar of events in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the summer of 2026.
