71 million square meters of white land in Riyadh has entered development or circulation
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing explained that the total areas of white land covered by development and traded in the Riyadh region amounted to about 71 million square meters, in an indicator that reflects the growing impact of the application of the white land and vacant real estate fees system in stimulating urban development and raising the efficiency of land use within urban areas.
She pointed out that the registered areas included 29 million square meters of land that had been completed developed, 20 million square meters of white land that had entered into circulation, in addition to 21 million square meters of land that is still under development, which enhances the benefit of unexploited lands and supports an increase in urban supply in the region.
She indicated that revenues from white land fees contributed to supporting 27 development and urban projects in the Riyadh region, enhancing the efficiency of infrastructure and municipal services, and keeping pace with the urban growth witnessed by the capital.
The Ministry confirmed that these results are an extension of the ongoing efforts aimed at achieving the goals of regulating the real estate market and stimulating development within cities, which contributes to enhancing the balance between supply and demand, raising the efficiency of land investment, and increasing the supply of urban and residential products.
She drew attention to the fact that the white land and vacant real estate fees program continues its role in stimulating development by applying fees to lands located within the geographic ranges specified by the system, as the Ministry has begun issuing more than 60,000 invoices for white land fees in the city of Riyadh since the beginning of the year, after completing the necessary organizational and technical procedures, and in accordance with the provisions of the system and its executive regulations.
She stated that the system allows taxpayers to benefit from the statutory deadlines allocated for those serious about developing their lands in accordance with specific technical controls, which contributes to accelerating the pace of development and transforming white lands into effective urban projects and products that support economic and urban growth.
The Ministry indicated that the Real Estate Developers Services Center “Etmam” continues to provide support to owners of white lands through an integrated digital system that includes 38 services that cover the various stages of development, and provides clear and easy paths for completing licenses, approvals and coordination with the relevant authorities, which contributes to accelerating the implementation of projects and raising the efficiency of land development within urban areas.
She stressed that the integration between applying fees and enabling owners to benefit from development services contributes to promoting sustainable urban development, raising the efficiency of land investment, and achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to build cities that are more organized, sustainable, and have a better quality of life.
