Report from Barjanka: the crowd was also impressed by the weather

45. Marathon Franja BTC City: Barjanka, one of the most beautiful accompanying events Marathon Franjaconnected the urban pulse of Ljubljana with the calm image of the Ljubljana Marshes. The cyclists started at Kongresni trg, then continued along Aškerčeva Street and Tržaška Cesta towards Brezovica and further to Log, where the route directed them towards Bevka.

The special charm of Barjanka was represented by the macadam sections, the first of which was already on Barjanska cesta, from where the route continued towards Sinja Gorica. The route then led across the Ljubljanska barje towards Ižanska cesta, Hradeckega cesta and Litijska cesta, where a short stop was planned before continuing.

In the final part, the participants returned to Šmartinska cesta via Litijska cesta and Kajuhova ulica, and from there continued to the finish line in BTC City. Barjanka was not only a cycling test, but also a picturesque journey through an area that combines history, nature and the recreational spirit of Slovenia’s largest cycling holiday.
