Panamanian midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla continues to take important steps in his recovery ahead of Panama’s debut in the FIFA World Cup 2026 this June 17th.
The Star of Panama It was confirmed that Carrasquilla worked this Tuesday, June 16, under the supervision of Uruguayan physiotherapist Federico Delbene during the national team’s concentration in Canada, where the team is preparing for its first match of the tournament this June 17 in Toronto.
Carrasquilla suffered an injury on May 24 during the Liga MX final that he played with the Mexican club Pumas UNAM, a situation that has kept him away from competitive activity in recent weeks.
However, the midfielder showed progress in his rehabilitation process when he returned to the pitch during training on June 14. As part of the session, he did continuous running and exercises with changes of pace, activities that are part of the final phase of his recovery.
The Panama team maintains its camp in a sports complex located in the town of Alliston, within the municipality of New Tecumseth.
The site was chosen to offer adequate conditions for the team’s preparation, away from the constant movement of Toronto.
From that headquarters, the team led by the national coaching staff carries out their training before facing their World Cup commitments. Toronto will host two of Panama’s matches during the group stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Carrasquilla’s evolution is closely followed by the national team’s technical and medical staff, who hope to have one of their main figures fit for the start of the competition.
