American authorities will prevent 13,000 Argentine fans from attending World Cup matches, most notably the Algeria match this Wednesday.
This confrontation will take place in Kansas City, USA, for the first round of the group stage for the tenth group.
The Argentine government submitted a list of 13,000 alimony debtors to the American authorities, within the framework of a mutual cooperation agreement between the two countries, with the aim of preventing them from attending the 2026 World Cup matches.
“The alimony debtor” means the father who is legally obligated to pay alimony amounts to his wife and children after divorce.
Since March 2025, the authorities of the capital, Buenos Aires, have already begun to implement a measure restricting the entry of alimony debtors to sporting and public events. According to the latest report published by the Argentine newspaper “La Derecha Diario”, which added that the Mayor of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, stated: “If they do not provide for their children, they will not be allowed to enter the stadiums.”
