The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen and the Communications Authority hold a training program for telecommunications sector cadres in Yemen
The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, in partnership with the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, held a training program for cadres of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the Republic of Yemen, with the participation of 44 trainees, during the period June 14-15 in Aden Governorate.
The training program was opened by His Excellency the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, Engineer Haitham bin Abdul Rahman Al-Ohali, His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Shadi Basra, and the Assistant General Supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, Engineer Hassan Al-Attas, via video communication.
The program included a number of specialized topics presented by a group of experts and specialists at the Communications, Space and Technology Commission. With the aim of developing the technical and administrative skills of the trainees, and enhancing their knowledge of the latest practices and technologies in the communications and technology sector.
The second training program comes after the success of the first edition, which was held in partnership between the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen and the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, and witnessed the participation of 32 trainees, and contributed to developing the capabilities of Yemeni cadres and enhancing the benefit from advanced Saudi expertise in this field.
The training program was an extension of the various efforts to support institutional capacity building and the development of Yemeni national competencies, which contributes to enhancing the performance of the communications and information technology sector, raising its readiness to keep pace with rapid technical developments, and improving the quality of services provided to citizens.
The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen has given special attention to strengthening the capabilities of Yemeni cadres by adopting projects and initiatives aimed at building both institutional, technical and societal capabilities, including: the comprehensive capacity building program that began in mid-2021; To enhance the capabilities of the Yemeni Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Yemeni Ministry of Finance, and to enable Yemeni government institutions to diagnose their needs, assess their capabilities, carry out their basic tasks, and adapt to the different circumstances they are going through, in addition to hosting a workshop on building and developing the capabilities of Yemeni institutions in November 2022, with the participation of 8 international and UN organizations, as an extension of the program’s efforts to support various fields in Yemen.
The development projects and initiatives presented by the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen contributed to the economic empowerment of women, youth and communities, and investment in human capital, including the “Building the Future for Yemeni Youth” program, in addition to projects to support livelihoods for affected communities, and raise the capabilities of personnel working in the transportation sector.
The program implemented a number of training and qualification programs for cadres working in various fields, including: the Arab Board and the Diploma in Respiratory Care and Intensive Care, which had a positive impact on improving the level of health services and enhancing the quality of care, in addition to building the capabilities of educational cadres through multiple projects and initiatives, such as: the Access to Rural Education Project and the International Professional Certificates Program in Teaching, in a way that raises the quality of education and keeps pace with international standards.
These development projects and initiatives fall within a larger matrix that includes 287 projects and initiatives presented by the program since its establishment in mid-2018 in 8 vital sectors: education, health, energy, water and transportation, agriculture and fisheries, development programs, and developing and supporting the capabilities of the Yemeni government.
