Emenihaber:. Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated that the initiative in the relations with Ankara has passed into the hands of Athens, and the Turkish side has already appeared only in the role of the antagonist.
In an interview with the Greek “Antenna” TV channel, Mitsotakis countered the criticisms of the two former prime ministers of the country, who considered Athens’ foreign policy towards Turkey to be weak.
The head of the Greek government emphasized that Athens managed to change the rules of the game in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, pointing to three main factors: Greece has expanded the boundaries of its territorial waters, clearly demonstrated its sovereign rights in the south of the island of Crete and started its own drilling for the first time in 40 years.
“It is the first time that Greece sets the agenda, and Turkey only reacts to it to some extent,” added Mitsotakis.
Referring to the constant threat of “Casus belli” (war cause/occasion/ultimatum) sounded by Turkey for years, Mitsotakis added.
“I am the only Prime Minister of Greece who went to Ankara and there, politely, but without concessions, clearly raised the issue of “casus belli”.
