    “Statistics”: 11.2 million Umrah pilgrims in the fourth quarter of 2025 – Saudi News


    The General Authority for Statistics issued Umrah and visitation statistics for the fourth quarter of 2025, which revealed that the total number of Umrah pilgrims reached 11,291,326 male and female Umrah pilgrims, of whom 6,413,707 were males, at a rate of 56.8%, and 4,877,619 were females, at a rate of 43.2%.

    Statistics showed that the number of Umrah performers abroad reached 5,701,525 male and female Umrah performers, while the number of internal Umrah performers reached 5,589,801 male and female Umrah performers. Females recorded the highest percentage of Umrah pilgrims abroad, at 53%, with 3,021,238 Umrah performers, compared to 2,680,287 males, at 47%.

    Air ports topped the ports of entry for Umrah pilgrims from abroad, with 4,976,861 male and female Umrah pilgrims, compared to 699,577 through land ports, and 25,087 through sea ports.

    The report revealed that with regard to domestic Umrah performers, the number of Saudis reached 2,616,871 male and female Umrah performers, representing 46.8% of the total, while the number of non-Saudis reached 2,972,930, representing 53.2%. Males of the domestic Umrah pilgrims constituted 66.8%, with 3,733,420 Umrah performers, compared to 1,856,381 females, representing 33.2%.

    According to the types of Umrah performance, 72% of domestic Umrah pilgrims performed their rituals accompanied by friends, which is the highest percentage, followed by those who performed Umrah individually at 21%, then those who performed Umrah accompanied by their families at 7%.

    The Makkah Al-Mukarramah region topped the regions of the Kingdom in the number of domestic Umrah pilgrims during the fourth quarter, with 2,002,701 male and female Umrah pilgrims, representing 35.8% of the total domestic Umrah pilgrims, followed by the Riyadh region with 1,146,451 male and female Umrah pilgrims, accounting for 20.5%, while the Northern Border Region recorded the lowest percentage at 0.5%.

    The number of domestic Umrah pilgrims who performed Umrah once reached 5,425,946 male and female Umrah pilgrims, while the number of male and female Umrah pilgrims who performed Umrah more than once reached 163,855 male and female Umrah pilgrims, equivalent to 2.9% of the total domestic Umrah pilgrims during the same period.

    In terms of months, December recorded the highest number of Umrah pilgrims abroad during the fourth quarter, with 2,142,252 male and female Umrah pilgrims, representing 37.6% of the total, while October was the lowest with 1,689,704. As for domestic Umrah pilgrims, November topped the numbers for the fourth quarter with 2,059,838 male and female Umrah pilgrims, at a rate of 36.8%, while December was the lowest with 1,614,409.

    Age statistics showed that the group from 55 to 64 years had the highest percentage among the external Umrah pilgrims at 18.9%, while the group from 25 to 34 years topped the internal Umrah pilgrims with a percentage of 26.6%, and the category of those over 65 years of age was the lowest among the internal Umrah pilgrims with a percentage of 2.8%.

    In Medina, the total number of visitors arriving from abroad during the fourth quarter reached 3,846,284 male and female visitors, of whom 47.9% were males, and 52.1% were females. The number of visitors to Medina from within for religious purposes reached 1,876,300 male and female visitors, including 1,006,768 Saudis, or 53.7%, and 869,532 non-Saudis, or 46.3%.

    According to the most prominent indicators, the total number of visitors to Medina from home and abroad reached about 5.7 million male and female visitors during the fourth quarter of 2025.
