Kia has expanded its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) offering with the introduction of the PV5 Passenger in new 6- and 7-seat configurations, designed to meet the growing demand for flexible multi-passenger mobility. The 6-7 seater PV5 Passenger is a highly versatile all-electric passenger vehicle suitable for a wide range of target audiences – family and group travel, shuttle and taxi services, commercial passenger transport and other shared mobility applications.
Expanding on its existing 5-seater variant, the PV5 Passenger is now available with three rows of seats, offering generous comfort and legroom to all passengers. The low entrance height of 399 mm, combined with the automatic sliding doors, ensures easy access to the second and third rows. New seat designs maximize interior flexibility – 6-seat version (1-2-3 arrangement), 315 liters of front storage space next to the driver, 350 liters of rear luggage space (behind the third row), 7-seat version (2-2-3 arrangement), 318 liters of rear luggage space, up to 785 liters with the third row folded.
Both versions benefit from Kia’s E-GMP.S flat-floor platform, which allows for generous interior space and best-in-class legroom (up to 1,041mm), headroom (up to 1,076mm) and shoulder room (up to 1,732mm). It supports long-term durability, modularity and advanced connectivity, including integration with fleet management systems.
Range of more than 390 kilometers, charging from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes PV5 Passenger with 6/7 seats offers a range of more than 390 km (WLTP, homologation process in progress). Thanks to the high DC charging capacity of up to 150 kW, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes. The front charging port adds extra convenience, allowing the model to be charged without obstructing access to the trunk. The PV5 Passenger also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows electric vehicles to power external devices using an internal or external socket.
– We are happy to enable more passengers to enjoy the Kia PV5, now available with three rows of seats. This versatile vehicle builds on the PV5’s strong value in its segment. The PV5 redefines what customers and passengers can expect from an electric van, maximizing flexibility while providing comfort and space for all passengers – said Erhan Eren, director of PBV vehicles at Kia Europe.
Designed for commercial and personal use
The Kia PV5 Passenger has a bold and futuristic design concept, with strong visual elements and a clean, modern finish. Software-driven architecture offers over-the-air updates and seamless integration with fleet systems for commercial use. The intuitive digital cockpit centers around a 12.9-inch infotainment screen and 7.5-inch digital instrument cluster, with access to a growing ecosystem of third-party apps via Kia’s in-vehicle infotainment system and the Pleos app marketplace.
Ride and handling have been optimized for comfort, with improved noise isolation, reduced road vibration and refined chassis tuning. A class-leading turning radius of 5.5 meters improves handling in urban environments, while optimized steering and gear ratios help reduce driver fatigue. The model also has a best-in-class suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
PV5 updates for the 2027 model year.
The 6- and 7-seat versions of the PV5 Passenger will be introduced with updates for the 2027 model year (MY27). As part of Kia’s ongoing product improvement program, these updates will further improve comfort, usability and everyday practicality across the range. For the PV5 Passenger, these enhancements place a strong emphasis on the driver experience, with the introduction of a height-adjustable armrest to improve comfort, especially in urban and professional use scenarios.
These updates will be applied to the entire Passenger range, including the newly introduced 6- and 7-seat models, ensuring that all models benefit from improved ergonomics and ease of use. In addition, convenience and safety are enhanced with features such as the Walk Away Lock, while everyday practicality is supported by solutions such as the flat antenna, which helps keep the vehicle’s height below 1.9 meters for improved access to height-restricted environments.
For Cargo and Chassis Cab versions, the MY27 updates further strengthen the PV5’s suitability for business applications and comfort. The 3-seat configuration will be phased into all PV5 Cargo trims in line with the start of production, starting with L2H1 models from August 2026, followed by L2H2 derivatives from November 2026, and extended to L1H1 trims from January 2027.
Enhancements such as standard driver lumbar support (only available on Cargo trims) and a composite cargo bulkhead improve durability and cab separation, while Chassis Cab trims benefit from additional functionality, including towing capability and the availability of a Rear Vehicle Event Monitoring (RVM) camera to support maneuverability and visibility in demanding operating conditions.
The 22 kW charging capability will be introduced in stages across the entire line. Selected cargo versions, including the L2H1 as well as the L2 Crew Van, will be available from July 2026, followed by L2H2 variants, walk-through models and cab chassis from November 2026. Additional cargo versions such as the L1H1 will be introduced from January 2027. For passenger versions, the 5-seat and WAV models will also be available from January 2027, while the 6- and 7-seat versions will follow from early rollout in September 2027. Together, these updates reinforce PV5’s positioning as a highly adaptable platform, suited to both passenger mobility and commercial use.
