Starting Sunday, Al-Bashir Hospitals will begin implementing a new mechanism to organize morning outpatient clinic appointments, under direct guidance from the Minister of Health, Ibrahim Al-Badour.
It was decided to start registering patients at 7 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. to allow visitors to complete registration procedures early, with priority given to the elderly and patients detained by security, in order to ensure that their transactions are completed during the first hours of work, and contribute to alleviating congestion resulting from security escorts and improving workflow within the hospital.
The morning period for outpatient clinics was divided into two periods: The first is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is designated for new patients visiting the clinics for the first time, and the second is from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, which is allocated for following up on patients visiting the clinics and completing their treatment plans.
The clients were notified of the new appointments through short text messages sent to their phones on Friday morning, in a step aimed at organizing the movement of clients and ensuring their distribution over the morning working hours in a more efficient manner.
Al-Bashir Hospitals also designated a hotline on (0775806098) to respond to patients’ inquiries regarding their appointments and text messages sent to them, and to provide the necessary instructions regarding the new review mechanism, ensuring ease of communication with patients and contributing to the success of implementing the new arrangements.
Director of the Al-Bashir Hospitals Administration, Atef Al-Nammoura, said that the reorganization of outpatient clinic appointments came after a study of the reality of the work situation by the Minister and the directors of Al-Bashir Hospitals in the clinics, their privacy, and the distribution of patients among them, indicating that this step falls within a package of development measures implemented by the Ministry of Health to improve the patient’s journey within the hospital and distribute the numbers of visitors over different working hours.
He added that the Ministry had extended the working hours in 5 comprehensive health centers surrounding Al-Bashir Hospitals until 10 p.m., allowing citizens to obtain primary health care services, medicines, laboratory tests, and radiology services near their places of residence, and contributing to directing patients to the health level most appropriate for their health needs.
This step comes after the positive results achieved by implementing the flexible patient distribution system in the outpatient clinics of Prince Hamzah Hospital, where the idea was circulated taking into account the privacy of each hospital and the nature of the services it provides.
These integrated measures aim to improve the flow of health service provision, reduce overcrowding, and reduce waiting times, enabling medical and administrative staff to focus on providing more efficient and quality health care, and this will reflect positively on the level of services provided to citizens.
The Ministry of Health called on all patients and visitors to cooperate in implementing this new arrangement and to adhere to the specified dates, as this has a direct impact on facilitating access to health services and providing a more comfortable and organized environment for all patients.
