Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has announced on Wednesday night that it has attacked American bases in the Middle East.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) says Wednesday night that it has targeted US military bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain.
This is announced by the IRGC according to Iranian state media, writes the Reuters news agency.
Here it sounds like there are both drone and missile attacks.
The Revolutionary Guards warned in a statement of “a more serious reaction” if what it called US aggression continued.
According to the IRGC, the attacks are aimed at an American naval base in Bahrain, an American air base in Jordan and an American air base in Kuwait.
Comes after report of American attack
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claim it has hit “four major targets” at the airbase in Jordan. Including a site used to house F35 fighter jets and a control center. It has neither been confirmed nor denied by the United States.
The message from Iran comes after the United States announced late on Tuesday evening that the country had launched an attack against Iran.
According to the United States, they were carried out in self-defense after an American military helicopter was shot down on Monday near the Strait of Hormuz in the Middle East.
Shortly before three o’clock on Wednesday night Danish time, the US Central Command announced that the attacks against Iran had ended.
Airborne alerts in several countries
Air raid alerts are sounding overnight on Wednesday over Bahrain. This is stated by the country’s Ministry of the Interior in a post on the social media X, shortly after the IRGC announced the attack.
– The air alarm has been activated. Residents are encouraged to answer the call and seek the nearest safe place, writes the ministry.
In Kuwait, it is heard from the army on Wednesday night that the country’s air defense is in action against “enemy targets”.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched extensive airstrikes against Iran. This caused Iran to respond again with retaliatory attacks against, among other things, American military bases in the region.
At the beginning of April, a cease-fire was concluded between the United States and Iran.
Since then, there have been several reports of Iranian attacks on American military bases in the area.
