In his message, President Brahim Ghali conveyed, on behalf of himself, the Sahrawi people and government, and the leadership of the Polisario Front, his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Russian President. He wished the Russian Federation and its friendly people continued progress and prosperity, and President Vladimir Putin good health and success in carrying out his duties.

President Ghali noted that this year’s celebration coincides with the 36th anniversary of the declaration of Russian state sovereignty, describing it as a landmark event in the history of modern Russia. He stated that it reflects the will of the Russian people to build a democratic federal system based on the rule of law, through a process of major transformations that have strengthened Russia’s national unity and sovereign identity.

He also affirmed that the Sahrawi Republic closely follows the development and nation-building efforts led by the friendly Russian people and highly appreciates the pivotal role played by the Russian Federation as a key actor in the multipolar international system and a strong supporter of the principles of the United Nations Charter, particularly justice and the right of peoples to self-determination.

President Brahim Ghali further expressed the Sahrawi Republic’s pride in the friendly relations it maintains with the Russian Federation and its sincere desire to further develop and strengthen these ties within appropriate institutional frameworks and across all areas of mutual interest, for the benefit of both peoples and countries.

The President of the Republic also highly praised Russia’s principled position in support of United Nations resolutions, expressing confidence in its role as a permanent member of the UN Security Council in continuing to support a just and lasting settlement of the conflict in Western Sahara. He emphasized the importance of ensuring the Sahrawi people’s legitimate right to self-determination and independence, in accordance with relevant UN resolutions and the Charter of the African Union, thereby contributing to peace and stability in North Africa and the Sahel region.
