Paola Durante you already saw”Witnesses: the truth has a voice“, the new documentary which talks about the events surrounding the death of Paco Stanley and, satisfied, the host hopes that, with what is said in Juan Carlos Uribe’s production, people will stop pointing out her as a possible culprit of the homicide when, since 2001, she was acquitted.
Durante was interviewed by “Venga la salud”, a morning news program to which she revealed that she had already seen the Reellee TV documentary, in which two former judicial agents and former bodyguards of drug traffickers, Jorge Antonio Godoy López and René López, talk about what they witnessed at that time.
For the driver it represents a turning point in her life, since, despite the fact that, 25 years ago, she was freed and acquitted of the crimes of qualified homicide and attempted homicide, for a long time, she has faced unjust accusations.

“I hope that, with this, people will now calm down and realize that, yes, they committed a great injustice to us because, the prison is not only inside, it is outside, we experience it in person, that they tell you ‘you are a murderer’ or ‘there goes the murderer of’, that is horrible.”
After the emotional consequences that, for Durante, meant being exposed to public scrutiny for decades, which limited her work opportunities and reintegration into a fair society, she says that, to date, she has support from professionals to manage her mental health.

“I will never be able to forget that, it took me a lot of work to overcome all that, I felt that I was not worth it, so, yes, I have had many episodes in my life in which I fall again, I get up again and I am always with psychiatrists, with psychologists, with medications because it is difficult,” he expressed.

He also revealed that one of the protected witnesses -God, who participated in the documentary, sought to express his regret, after remaining silent for so many years.
“He sent me an audio that he was very sorry for me, that he felt very bad for not saying it before, but that he couldn’t, that he had been threatened and I understand it,” he concluded.
