At the beginning of her morning conference, the president recalled that a few days ago she raised the need for professional teams to contribute to expanding sports infrastructure and soccer training spaces throughout the national territory.
“It would be very good if the League teams, in addition to what they are already doing, helped there be more soccer schools in the country,” he said.

In this regard, Mikel Andoni Arriola Peñalosacommissioner of the Mexican Soccer Federation, announced that the 18 clubs of the Liga MX They will join a national strategy to strengthen the training of girls, boys and young soccer players, in response to the call made by the president.
Arriola stated that the Soccer World Cup 2026 represents a historic opportunity to build a permanent social legacy for Mexican children.
He pointed out that the objective is for the schools, academies and basic forces of the clubs to become a great quarry from which the future members of the women’s and men’s national teams emerge.
The manager highlighted that, in coordination with the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sports (Conade), a comprehensive training strategy was built that will accompany the players from their first years of sports practice to high performance.
He explained that the model includes school initiation, federated competitions, talent detection, professional club academies and eventual access to national teams.
In addition, he highlighted the growth of women’s soccer, pointing out that four out of every ten fans are women, which reflects greater interest and participation of this sector in the sport.
As part of the progress, he reported that the School Cup organized in alliance with the FIFAthe Ministry of Public Education and the Conade will grow from 6 thousand to more than 28 thousand participating schools by 2026, while the number of students involved will increase from 120 thousand to more than 1.1 million nationwide.
He added that the program will have coverage in the 32 states and will have more than 2 thousand trainers certified by the Mexican Soccer Federation.
Likewise, he highlighted the creation of a national talent detection network that operates both in Mexico as in USA. According to the figures presented, more than 11 thousand players have been observed, which has resulted in 315 invitations to trials with professional clubs and 97 calls to national teams.
The commissioner stressed that professional clubs have strengthened their training structures through sports and academic scholarship programs to prevent young people from abandoning their studies while developing their soccer career. Added to this are nearly 290 teams of Premier League and Third Professional Division distributed throughout the country, with almost 16 thousand players in training.
