Acapulco.— Esthela Damián Peraltaformer Legal Counsel of the Presidency of the Republic and candidate for the candidacy of Brunette for the government of Warrioraffirms that she is not the president’s candidate Claudia Sheinbaumwith whom he worked from the Head of Government of the Mexico City.
In interview with THE UNIVERSALassures that there is an even floor in the internal race, affirms that he will respect the result of the survey and that she will raise the hand of whoever is elected without a problem, but asks for the same if she wins.
In his office in the port of Acapulcohighlights that it was an honor to have been part of Claudia Sheinbaum’s team and that she always learns from her, but rejects that she is going to be imposed on her for having been in the federal cabinet.
Some voices say that you are President Claudia Sheinbaum’s candidate…
—No, no, no. I am not the President’s candidate. I had the honor of being on her team, of being part of her team, of feeling that she was and will continue to be—because I always learn from her—my leader and my reference teacher. But I am not, I am not nor will I ever be someone imposed by the President. That would be contrary to her principles and, of course, also yours.
He says that when he informed the President of his intention to resign from the Legal Departmentthe President reminded him that he could not support anyone and that he would have to submit to a survey.
Damián Peralta indicates that he has met with Felix Salgado Macedonio and Beatriz Mojicatwo candidates for the guinda party candidacy, and that in both cases the meetings have been cordial and respectful.
The graduate in Law from the Autonomous University of Guerrero (UAG) assures that in the state race there is an “even playing field,” and “the dice are not loaded.”
Is there an even floor in Guerrero?
—If you notice, I do not bring privileges, that is, I do not bring nor have nor seek nor would they give me any preference of any kind, because that is not going to exist. Let no one think that my hand is going to shake to recognize if the survey is lost, on the contrary, they should know that I am not going to haggle.
So, if the polls do not favor you, would you join the support of whoever wins the exercise?
—Yes, whether it is a man or a woman, I have no regrets, I have no problem and I have told them personally: ‘No, don’t worry, I am not used to absolutely anything exceptional or any different treatment. I came knowing this, so calm down.’
Will you accept the result?
—Always, of course.
Esthela Damián states that she sees no difficulties in —whoever the candidate—Morena winning the next state elections, since Guerrero is a totally Morena town.
“This town is morenista, morenista, morenista. Check the polls and I think you will not find another state as painted in cherry color as Guerrero.”
