ABZ Innovation is establishing one of Europe’s largest civilian drone manufacturing centers in Szentendre (30 minutes from Budapest) with an investment of approximately 2.7 billion forints (approximately 7.5 million euros; 1 euro = 359 forints), said the managing director of ABZ Drone during an onsite factory tour held Thursday.
Máté Keczer explained that the company primarily focuses on agricultural and industrial drones. They began their operations ten years ago by providing drone services, and for the past three to four years have been manufacturing drones of their own design, thereby leveraging the experience gained through their service operations. ABZ Drone is the distributor of drones manufactured by ABZ Innovation.
Our goal is to create professional drone technologies that provide effective solutions in various sectors of the economy,”
he said.

Keczer explained that
their Hungarian-developed and manufactured drone systems are already present in more than 40 countries,
from the United States to the Far East. Based on their previous announcement, the investment was provided by an international consortium led by Vsquared Ventures, with the participation of Hungarian and American investors. ABZ Innovation received a seven million euro investment to expand its manufacturing capacity and strengthen its position in the European drone market.

The head of ABZ Drone emphasized that it was interesting to realize that there is a shortage in Europe of reliable drones designed for heavy-load, industrial use. Their experience has shown that Hungarian engineering expertise is internationally competitive, and their professionally developed domestic drones are being used in an increasingly wide range of applications. Based on data from the Electronic Reporting Portal, ABZ Drone closed 2025 with net revenue of 684 million forints and a post-tax loss of 224 million forints. In 2024, the company’s net revenue was 872 million forints, with a loss of 82 million forints.
ABZ Innovation reported net revenue of 779 million forints in 2025 and a net loss of 1.9 billion forints; in 2024, the company’s net revenue was 253 million forints, with a net loss of 141 million forints.
