Ambassador Ashraf Sweilem, Egypt’s ambassador to the UK, said he was scheduled to visit British Prime MinisterKeir Starmer, Cairo, on July 9, 2026. A joint announcement will be made between Egypt and Britain to raise the level of bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership.

Supporting and mobilizing efforts to attract foreign direct investments to Egypt
Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, also said that the Egyptian government is working to support and mobilize efforts to attract foreign direct investments to Egypt to build on successful foundations laid down by the economic reform program that Egypt has implemented over the past years, stressing that the comprehensive and integrated future vision for the Egyptian economy during the next 4 years depends on supporting exports and supporting economic activities that support the growth of the export sectors of products and services and relying on the so-called knowledge economy, in addition to continuous work to improve the structure of exports.
The Minister of Finance added, during his speech before the activities of the Future Egypt Conference held in the British capital, London, that the second package of tax facilities will be launched soon, stressing that tax and customs reforms work to increase confidence in the future of the Egyptian economy, pointing to the importance of increasing support for the private sector, which will contribute to leading economic growth during the coming period.

Meanwhile, Engineer Randa El Minshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, said that the Egyptian government worked to implement housing projects for various social segments, in addition to creating a boom in infrastructure projects and implementing many new cities to accommodate the population increase, in addition to attracting foreign direct investments to the real estate and housing sector.
The Minister of Housing added, during her speech before the activities of the Future Egypt Conference held in the British capital, London, that Egypt is implementing important reforms to support the legislative and legal environment that attracts investment, stressing that the private sector is a major partner in implementing many projects through the public-private partnership program, noting that the basic message that Egypt is sending to investors is that Egypt has investment opportunities for projects in new smart cities supported by advanced infrastructure.
The activities of the “Future Egypt: Investment Opportunities and Sustainable Economic Reform” conference, organized by the Egyptian-British Business Association (BEBA), began today, Wednesday, in the British capital, London, during the period from June 3 to 5, 2026.

A high-level government delegation participates in the conference
The conference will be held with the participation of a high-level government delegation, which includes Ahmed Kajouk, Minister of Finance, Engineer Randa El Minshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, along with Ramy Aboul Naga, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
The events are attended by a group of senior investors, businessmen, decision-makers, government officials, and leaders of financial and investment institutions from Egypt and the United Kingdom, within the framework of strengthening the economic partnership and promoting the promising investment opportunities offered by the Egyptian economy as part of Egypt’s endeavor to attract about $17 billion in foreign direct investments annually.
The conference represents a high-level strategic platform to present the developments taking place in the Egyptian economy to the British and international business community, and to highlight the growing investment opportunities in vital sectors, to enhance efforts to attract foreign direct investments, and to support Egypt’s position as a regional economic and investment center capable of attracting capital seeking growth and stability in the Middle East and Africa region.
The Egyptian trade mission is holding several meetings in the British capital, London, as part of a visit organized by the Egyptian-British Business Association, with the participation of a group of ministers, heads of companies, banks, and businessmen, where extensive meetings are held with officials and heads of British companies to support investment and economic cooperation between Egypt and the United Kingdom.
Participating in the meetings of the Egyptian delegation are Ambassador Ashraf Sweilem, Egyptian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Mark Bryson Richardson, United Kingdom Ambassador to Egypt, Khaled Nosair, President of the Egyptian-British Business Association BEBA, and a group of heads and boards of directors of companies operating in several economic sectors, and a group of senior businessmen.
