SANTA FE.- The four occupants of the two vehicles that were involved in a head-on collision on provincial route 94, in the jurisdiction of the town of Teodelina, General López department, 346 kilometers south of the provincial capital, died instantly. This was established by the first expert reports, while investigations continue to clarify the causes of such a violent accident.
The incident occurred yesterday at the height of the section known as “Curva de García Varela”, at kilometer 17 of that highway, a place close to the jurisdictional limit between Villa Cañás and Teodelina.
According to the reports accessed THE NATIONthe causes of the accident are the subject of investigation.
What was confirmed is that a white Toyota Hilux truck and a Chevrolet Prisma car were involved in a violent head-on collision that ended the lives of the four people involved.
The fatal victims were the three occupants of the 4×4 and the driver of the remaining vehicle.
According to the information provided by sources from the 7th Police Station of Teodelina, “there were three occupants in the truck, while there was only one person in the car. They were all of legal age. Emergency personnel and troops from different areas quickly went to the scene to assist in the situation,” he added.
Subsequently, the head of the active Teodelina Volunteer Fire Department, Leonardo Mena, confirmed the outcome, noting that “unfortunately, the outcome has been fatal for all participants.”
Meanwhile, investigators, police and judicial authorities have still not provided the identities of the deceased, although it emerged that three of the fatal victims were from Teodelina and the remaining from Villa Cañás.
In addition, as a result of the accident, the route remained completely interrupted for vehicular traffic for several hours to allow for expert tasks, surveying of the scene and removal of the vehicles involved.
Once the first actions were completed, the place was “available to the Judiciary”, while the prosecutor’s office on duty and the police authorities advanced this Saturday in the investigation to determine how the impact occurred and officially establish the identity of the victims.
It was noted that although the mechanics of the accident are subject to investigation, at the time of the crash there were drizzles of varying intensity in the region.
Finally, the chief of the Teodelina Volunteer Firefighters, Leonardo Mena, expressed his discomfort at the circulation of images of the accident through social networks and messaging applications. “It is not the responsibility of the active body that I represent, it was not the responsibility of those who are working. I totally repudiate the people who viralized photos of the accident, without empathizing with the family and friends of the deceased,” he clarified.
