Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, affirmed that investing in national competencies and qualifying them with specific knowledge and expertise represents a fundamental pillar for enhancing the efficiency of government work and supporting the comprehensive development process under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the country, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the Prime Minister’s program for developing government cadres, as an honorable model in strengthening national programs specialized in preparing government leaders capable of keeping pace with future changes and challenges and contributing to achieving the Kingdom’s development goals.
This came when he met with members of the eleventh batch of the Prime Minister’s program for developing government cadres, during their field visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the framework of the program aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the participants and informing them of pioneering government experiences and practices.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the most prominent features of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s foreign policy, and the foundations upon which it is based in defending the Kingdom’s sovereignty and independence, preserving its territory and national unity, preserving its security and stability, and enhancing regional and international security, stability and cooperation, in addition to the efforts made by Bahraini diplomatic missions abroad to promote the Kingdom’s interests and strengthen its bilateral and multilateral relations, and its role in supporting Bahraini citizens abroad, caring for their affairs and providing consular services.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs explained that the foreign policy of the Kingdom of Bahrain is based on the wise vision of His Majesty the King, and works to spread world peace, protect human rights and promote sustainable development, and is characterized by moderation, balance, flexibility, harmony and constructive cooperation with various nations and peoples within the framework of international charters and laws. He indicated that the Ministry is working to implement this policy by strengthening its relations with brotherly and friendly countries and partners, and in various regional and international forums, and through its current non-permanent membership in the Security Council, including It contributes to strengthening the Kingdom’s position in the international arena.
The visit included a tour of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, to learn about the academy’s training and qualification programmes, and its role in preparing and qualifying diplomatic cadres and enhancing professional capabilities in the diplomatic field, in addition to a visit to the Al-Madar Center at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during which the participants were briefed on the efforts undertaken by the center to monitor global events and news and prepare reports and political analyzes of global events. They were also briefed on the latest systems and technologies used in the ministry to follow up and manage diplomatic and consular operations at home and abroad.
For their part, members of the eleventh batch of the Prime Minister’s program for developing government cadres expressed their thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and officials in the Ministry, stressing that this visit contributed to enhancing their understanding of the role of Bahraini diplomacy and the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in serving national interests and consolidating the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain on the regional and international arenas.
