Hlyn Pálmason’s film Ástin sem erir was awarded the most awards when the Icelandic Film and Television Academy’s awards were presented in Gullhámr earlier this evening.
The film won a total of seven awards, including film of the year and game, but it should be noted that Hlynur was awarded for his script, direction and cinematography of the film. Sverrir Guðnason, Saga Garðarsdóttir and Ída Mekkín, Hlyn’s daughter, were all awarded for their performance in the film.
The movie Eldarnir by Uglu Hauksdóttir and the TV series Vigdís úr smidja Vesturport won the second most awards, six each.
Eldarin was awarded for effects, costumes, editing, set design and music. Vigdís was awarded for directing, acting and costumes.
It is worth noting that Heimir Sverrisson won two awards for his plays, one in Eldunum and the other in Vigdís.
The TV series Felix & Klara won a total of five awards, including for script, editing, music and acting.
A total of seven prizes were awarded in the main categories, 14 professional prizes for films and 14 professional prizes for television, or a total of 35 prizes, in addition to an honorary prize which this year went to director Þorstein Jónsson.
