Therefore, Iran’s Ministry of Oil announced after the attack that it will soon start the reconstruction operation with domestic power. Last Thursday, Gholam Abbas Hosseini, CEO of South Pars Gas Complex Company, said about the latest conditions of South Pars Complexes: The process of rebuilding and improving the damaged units started from the first days after the enemy’s attack, relying on internal power, and today, with the efforts of experts and employees of the gas industry, the process of implementing these projects is underway with progress beyond the expected plans.
Hosseini considered the localization of technical processes and the maximum use of domestically manufactured equipment and goods as the most important success factors of these projects and said: In addition to increasing the speed of project implementation, the use of internal capacities and technical knowledge of Iranian experts has played an important role in reducing dependence on foreign sources.
The CEO of South Pars Gas Complex Company also emphasized the importance of energy consumption management and said: In addition to the continuous efforts of gas industry employees to maintain the stability of energy production and supply, people’s cooperation and compliance with the consumption pattern can play an effective role in maintaining the balance of the country’s energy network and the continuity of optimal services to all sectors.
    Forming a reconstruction committee
It was June 12 that the strategic committee for the reconstruction of the damaged South Pars refineries of the Pars Oil and Gas Company was formed with the aim of protecting the country’s strategic energy production capacities and in line with the consistent progress, continuous follow-up and acceleration of the reconstruction process. This committee has the mission of guiding, coordinating and supervising the reconstruction and rehabilitation of facilities damaged in the third imposed war and laying the groundwork for accelerating the implementation of technical, engineering, executive and support measures in this field.
The formation of this committee is done in a situation where the restoration of gas production and processing capacities in the world’s largest gas field as soon as possible is considered one of the most important priorities of the Ministry of Petroleum and the National Iranian Oil Company and plays a decisive role in the stability of energy supply, responding to domestic needs and maintaining national interests in the common field.
Based on the issued decrees, the members of the strategic committee for the reconstruction of the damaged refineries of South Pars have been required to use all the available technical, managerial and executive capacities, while compiling and following up operational plans, to identify the obstacles and challenges facing the reconstruction process and to take action to resolve them.
This committee’s mission is to provide the maximum use of national capabilities in the implementation of reconstruction projects by establishing coordination between various sectors of the oil industry, contractor companies, domestic manufacturers and suppliers and related specialized groups.

    Preparation for reconstruction
On the other hand, Toraj Dehghani, the CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company, in a joint meeting with the head of security of the National Iranian Oil Company, explained the measures taken in the field of reconstruction of facilities damaged by the third imposed war and said: the operation of removing debris from two South Pars refineries has reached 60% progress; An achievement that seemed unimaginable at first glance considering the environmental conditions, operational risks, strict safety requirements and the presence of unknown risks. He emphasized: What is happening today in South Pars is a rare example of mobilizing the country’s specialized capacities to revive the strategic infrastructure of the gas industry.
Pointing out that the employees of Pars Oil and Gas Company in various operational, executive and contracting departments were settled in the affected areas immediately after the attacks, Dehghani added: According to the latest reports, the complete cleaning of the three main damaged areas has been completed and the possibility of starting reconstruction operations has been provided in these areas.
The CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company stated that it is expected that the debris removal operation will be completely completed in less than a month, and stated: the amount of damage and the complexity of the work were such that under normal conditions, such an operation would require at least six to seven months, but our hardworking colleagues have been able to achieve this level of progress in less than two months, which is considered a rare record in the country’s oil industry, and it is promising that at this stage Reconstruction can also be followed with the same spirit and coherence, the process of reviving the damaged facilities at a suitable speed.
Referring to the effects of the enemy’s attacks on the country’s energy facilities, he said: “Today, all the facilities, capacities and management approaches have been mobilized to compensate for the damages and restore the production capacity as soon as possible, and we hope that with the help of all the relevant bodies, we can restore the lost valuable gas production capacity.”
Dehghani emphasized the necessity of supporting the managers and executors of national projects and said: the realization of big goals in such conditions requires trust, collective belief and support of all colleagues in related departments, and today the issue of decision-making in national projects should be looked at as an important issue at the country level.
On June 13, a number of oil officials of the country visited the damaged facilities in South Pars. Shahram Ahmadi, Director General of Health, Safety and Environment of the Ministry of Oil, visited the damaged refineries of South Pars and in a joint meeting with the vice president of operations and support and the head of HSE of this company and the executors of the reconstruction projects, reviewed the process of implementing safety, health and environment requirements in the reconstruction process.
In this meeting, the challenges and opportunities facing the refinery reconstruction projects were also reviewed and the latest status of actions taken in this field was evaluated. Following this visit, Hossein Ahsani, supervisor of safety, health and environment and passive defense of Pars Oil and Gas Company, pointed to the progress of activities and debris removal operations in two refining facilities and announced: Simultaneously with these measures, with the planning of the vice president of operations and support of Pars Oil and Gas Company, the annual overhaul operation of offshore platforms is also on the agenda.
Return of production to three offshore platforms
During the attacks of the Zionist regime and the United States on some refining facilities in South Pars, part of the gas receiving and processing capacity in the coastal strip was limited, and as a result of this situation, a number of offshore platforms corresponding to the damaged refineries were forced to stop production despite full operational readiness and without any damage to their offshore facilities. Because it was not possible to receive and process produced gas in the land sector.
By implementing technical and operational programs in the downstream sector and making maximum use of the capacity of active refineries, the ground for receiving and processing part of the gas produced by these platforms was provided, and as a result, three offshore platforms have once again entered the production circuit. The rich gas extracted from these platforms will be transferred to other gas refineries in the region with the coordination of the downstream sector in order to play a role in the stable supply of refinery feed and support the management of the country’s gas network in addition to the optimal use of the production capacity of the South Pars joint field.
