“The reason for our delegation’s visit was the Belagro exhibition. Our agricultural producers and farming sector representatives have come along. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the changes that have taken place at this magnificent forum. Belagro is a modern, high-level industrial platform that attracts delegations from around the world. We are very interested in your soil management practices, enriched soils, fertility improvement, and your overall farming standards. We want to adopt the experience of our Belarusian partners to harness peat, which Tyumen Oblast also boasts in colossal volumes, for the agricultural industry. In addition, an investor who is establishing orchards with us in Tyumen Oblast visited a local large-scale orcharding enterprise yesterday. They spent the entire day in the field with a technologist, closely studying how to care for and layout orchards. Furthermore, our dealer who supplies St. Petersburg Tractor Plant products, but lacks harvesters in its lineup, plans to establish partnership and dealership ties with Belarusian manufacturers to supply and service their machinery in Tyumen Oblast,” Vladimir Cheimetov said.
According to him, contracts have recently been concluded for the supply of Belarusian road construction, utility, and specialized vehicles to Tyumen Oblast. Traditionally, the region is interested in MTZ tractors and MAZ trucks.
On 3 June, Minsk hosted a joint meeting of the working group on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation between Belarus and Tyumen Oblast. “It is gratifying that year after year, and from one visit to another, we keep finding new areas for cooperation and mutually beneficial partnership. I am confident that this work will continue. The meeting of the working group will provide an additional boost to the development of trade and economic ties,” the Tyumen Oblast deputy governor noted.
