The D-list and the independents have appointed Sigurjón Andrésson as the mayor of Skaftárhrepp. His appointment will be confirmed on June 9 and he will take up the job later this summer.
This is stated in the announcement, which states that Sigurjón has extensive experience in management, local government and human resources. He has served as the mayor of the municipality of Hornafjörður since 2022.
The D-list and independents won a clear majority in the local government elections, with the party getting 199 votes and three local councilors elected. The Ö list won 121 votes and two representatives.
“We are very happy that Sigurjón has agreed to take over the position of Skaftárhrepp’s municipal manager. The experience and knowledge he possesses will be useful in the important projects that lie ahead,” Svein H. Jenssyni, head of the D-list and independents, was quoted as saying.
Sigurjón is excited about the upcoming projects as he looks forward to working with the residents, staff and local government on the continued development and development of Skaftárhrepp.
