Charges have been issued against a woman and two men who are suspected of a murder that caused widespread attention in Sweden in August 2022, when a 27-year-old man was shot multiple times on a street in Haninge, about 20 kilometers south of Stockholm.
The man received a number of bullets in the head and body early in the evening, and there were many witnesses to the beating, which the indictment says was “particularly merciless and had the characteristics of an execution”.
The main accused is a 25-year-old man who was seen running away from the scene, but he also attempted to kill two others who were at the scene.
Believed to have provided an apartment and weapons
He was finally arrested in Spain last year after being in hiding for years with an international wanted man.
The co-accused are a 36-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman who are believed to have assisted in the attack that was directed against a key member of the criminal gang Östberganätverket. They are suspected of having provided an apartment, where the shooter stayed while he prepared his work, provided weapons, clothing and a mask worn by the attacker.
