Leaders of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) are scheduled to gather in St Lucia from July 5 to 8, 2026, for the Fifty-First Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government.
The regional summit will be held in Gros Islet under the leadership of St Lucia’s Prime Minister, Hon. Philip J. Pierre, who will officially assume the rotating chairmanship of CARICOM on July 1.
The meeting will begin with an official opening ceremony on Sunday, July 5, at 4:00 PM Eastern Caribbean Time. During the event, addresses will be delivered by Prime Minister Pierre in his capacity as incoming CARICOM Chair, outgoing Chair and Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, and CARICOM Secretary-General Dr. Carla Barnett, per a CARICOM press release.
The ceremony will take place at Sandals St Lucia and will be broadcast live through CARICOM’s social media channels, allowing audiences throughout the region and beyond to follow the proceedings.
The release added that following the opening activities, Heads of Government will convene for a series of business sessions from July 6 to July 8. During these meetings, regional leaders are expected to discuss a range of priority issues affecting CARICOM member states and consider matters central to the Community’s development agenda.
At the conclusion of the conference, a closing press briefing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8. The event will be conducted in a hybrid format, enabling participation both in person and virtually.
In preparation for the meeting, CARICOM is also set to launch a dedicated online information portal by June 10. The knowledge hub will provide updates, background information and other resources related to the conference and will be accessible at https://caricom.org/51hgc/.
