Giro d’Italia Donne 2026
Results of the 4th stage: (time trial Belluno – Nevegal, 12.7 km):
Young Slovak cyclist Viktória Chladoňová has completed the first demanding mountain test of this year’s Giro d’Italia Donne race.
The nineteen-year-old competitor of the Visma-Lease and Bike team completed a 12.7 km mountain time trial with the destination in the city of Nevegal. In the intense competition, she took 25th place with a deficit of almost four minutes to Anna van der Breggenová.
The experienced Dutch cyclist, who won the Giro d’Italia four times and was the sports director of the SD Worx – Protime team between 2022 and 2024, performed a performance that allows her to think about the overall triumph.
She donned the pink jersey after beating reigning world time trial champion Marlen Reusser by 64 seconds. The biggest favorite and her former protégé Demi Vollering was another six seconds behind.

“I’m literally staring at the screen. What just happened? Anna van der Breggen crushed the starting field. A minute lead in the time trial on Marlen Reusser?
That’s an incredible difference. The world champion received a huge lesson. Mama mia,” the commentator of the Czech version of Eurosport, Petr Nejedlý, did not hide his surprise.
Van der Breggen also did not expect such a dominant victory, which marks the jubilee 100th day in the pink jersey at the Giro for her native country.
“I believe that I am an example that it is worth fighting. I have worked hard in the last two years to get to this level. This victory means a lot to me,” she said in a television interview.
“There are still many stages ahead of us, a lot can happen and it will be difficult to keep the pink jersey until the finish line. Wednesday’s stage will be difficult, there are technical descents and it is supposed to rain. However, I am confident with the team around me,” she added.
The results of the time trial were also reflected in the overall ranking, in which Chladoňová maintained 20th place and is third in the fight for the white jersey. Her compatriot Nora Jenčušová is in the 139th position with a loss of more than half an hour.
