The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the attack that targeted a site belonging to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon, killing a Serbian soldier, and wounding two soldiers from Spain and El Salvador.
The Ministry’s official spokesman, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the friendly Republic of Serbia on the death of the soldier, and his wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured.
Al-Majali stressed the necessity of ensuring the security of the UN forces and preserving the safety of their members, and the Kingdom’s rejection of any targeting of the UNIFIL forces, which play an important role in preserving the security and stability of Lebanon in accordance with their UN mandate.
