The 2026 Michelin Guide Restaurant Ceremony for Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang was held on April 9 in Taizhou, East China’s Zhejiang province.
The updated guide integrates existing selections from Shanghai, Hangzhou, and major Jiangsu cities, including Nanjing, Suzhou, and Yangzhou, while adding Taizhou and Wenzhou in Zhejiang and Changzhou in Jiangsu as new dining destinations. A Michelin Guide representative said the three regions share culinary roots shaped by connected waterways, while maintaining distinct local styles such as Shanghai’s diversity, Jiangsu’s refined techniques, and Zhejiang’s fresh flavors.
A mix of traditional and contemporary restaurants from Hangzhou featured in the Bib Gourmand category, while Taizhou had 19 establishments recognized.
Starred listings also drew attention. In Hangzhou, multiple restaurants retained or gained Michelin stars, with Jie Xiang Lou upgraded to two stars alongside Ru Yuan. One-star restaurants featured Ambre Ciel, Guiyu (Xihu), Hangzhou House, Jin Sha, L’eclat 19, Longjing Manor, Sense, Song, Wild Yeast, Xin Rong Ji, and Yu Zhi Lan.
Taizhou recorded its first Michelin-starred entries, with four restaurants awarded one star: Carved Dragons (Jiaojiang), Lao Bian Jiu Jia (Jindai Road), Xin Rong Ji (Jiaojiang), and Xin Rong Ji (Linhai).
