The Monaco Grand Prix has added another accolade to its long list of distinctions after being named Best Event in Europe 2026, further cementing the Principality’s reputation as one of world motorsport’s most prestigious destinations.
The trophy was presented to Michel Boeri, president of the Automobile Club de Monaco, in recognition of the organisation and execution behind the iconic Formula 1 event.
The award highlights not only the global appeal of the Grand Prix itself, but also the logistical complexity involved in transforming Monaco’s narrow streets into a fully operational racing circuit each year. Preparations for the event typically require months of work involving hundreds of staff, contractors, volunteers and public services across the Principality.
Widely regarded as Formula 1’s most famous street race, the Monaco Grand Prix remains one of the crown jewels of the championship calendar alongside events such as Silverstone, Monza and Spa-Francorchamps. First held in 1929, the race is celebrated for its unique combination of sporting history, technical difficulty and glamour.
The recognition also arrives during a period of strong international visibility for Monaco motorsport. In recent years, the Principality has hosted not only Formula 1, but also the Monaco E-Prix and the Historic Grand Prix, helping reinforce Monaco’s standing as a year-round motorsport hub.
