FIFA said on Sunday evening that an Algerian international player, brought by the national vote, Vladimir Petkovic, to the 2026 World Cup, will not compete in this global competition.
Petkovic has set a list of 27 players, while the World Cup begins on June 11 and continues until July 19.
FIFA explained that goalkeeper Abdel Latif Ramadan was included in the reserve list for the Greens, and therefore he will be content with following the World Cup without participating on the field.
Thus, Petkovic will rely on the goalkeeping trio: Luca Zidane, Melvin Mastil, and Oussama Ben Bout.

According to the competition regulations, goalkeeper Abdul Latif Ramadan has only one chance to participate on the field in the World Cup, which is if one of his fellow goalkeepers is exposed to illness or serious injury, and after a careful examination by the FIFA Medical Committee. The date in the group stage or the direct elimination stage does not matter here.
Abdel Latif Ramadan (25 years old) had never previously participated with the “Greens”, but he represented the colors of the middle and Olympic categories.
This season, the son of the municipality of El Hajout (Tipaza Province) played 17 matches with the Mouloudia Club of Algiers, in all official competitions.
Abdul Latif Ramadan is still wearing the “brigadier general” uniform, with a contract whose term began in the summer of 2022 and ends in the same semester of 2028.
