An alarm was raised in France last Sunday and an 11-year-old boy was found dead near a river with a wet towel tied around his neck, The Irish Mirror reports.
Sunday afternoon around At 16.40 a fisherman heard of the child roaches near the river. He immediately contacted the emergency services, prompting rescuers to rush to the scene and they arrived within about 10 minutes. However, despite desperate efforts, the little boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
After the tragic discovery of France police launched a homicide investigation, and officials have since made two arrests in connection with the tragedy.
16 years old on Monday boy was detained at his home, and a 15-year-old girl was arrested when she turned herself in to the police station, said Rennes city prosecutor Frédéric Taillet. He confirmed that the victim was 11 years old.
“Two young peoplewho were seen with the victim at the scene on the afternoon of the incident, are currently in police custody on charges of murdering a minor,” he said in a statement.
Local media reports that the boy’s mother was looking for him at the time of the incident on the river bank a tragedy. He had told her he was going fishing with a friend. According to the authorities, the alleged murder took place “in a wooded area at the foot of several apartment buildings, under a bridge that crosses the Vilena River.”
It remains unclear how the three children knew each other.
