Drummer Miķelis Vīte plays drums for various stars – both in Intar Busulis and Laima Vaikule’s concerts, in the show “X factor” and for Valērijas Meladze when he performs in Latvia, but the day before the concert Miķelis broke his arm. Miķelis was persistent and still came to the rehearsal with Meladzi in the arena, reports the magazine “Privātā Dzīve”.
It is said that Valerii Meladze was very surprised when he saw how Miķelis played the drums with one hand. “He liked what he heard, at least he told me: listen, but it sounds very good even if you play with one hand,” says the drummer from Latvia. Meladze even filmed the attempt. However, Miķeli’s arm started to hurt, so he did not play in the concert.
Singer Valery Meladze has stopped performing in Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine and moved to another country. The musician is a defender of Ukraine, for which he has received condemnation from to the Russian authorities.
