Just like banks, barbers will pay an annual tax of 1,000 euros to the Municipality of Pristina, based on the draft regulation decided in public consultation a week ago.
Hair salons and other beauty treatments are among the 41 economic categories proposed to be subject to the new tariffs, which start from 300 to 3 thousand euros.
According to the draft regulation, the activities that will be subject to tariffs are also construction, trade, professional services, transport, private education, private health and sports activities.
The highest tax of 3 thousand euros is foreseen for the activities of private hospitals and specialized private activities.
Much the same is foreseen for physical maintenance activities.
And the dental offices operating in the capital, if the regulation is approved as proposed, will have to pay an annual tax of 2,000 euros.
Call centers will pay the same.
Fees from 500 to 1,000 euros are also provided for free professions and professional services.
The activity of lawyers and notaries is planned to be charged with 1,000 euros, and that of the executor with 700 euros.
While the activities of accounting, bookkeeping, auditing and architecture with 500 euros each.
The Director for Economic Development and Innovation in the Municipality of Pristina, Luftar Braha, has said that this document has not been finalized, that it is currently in the process of public consultations and that it may undergo changes.
“This is in public discussion. It is not that those prices have been set, the public discussion is open until June 24, after June 24 we will receive all the comments and arguments and examine once again where we may have been wrong and where it should be improved”, he said.
Braha has said that taxes have been set for categories that have an impact on citizen coexistence and that create pollution and that require services from the Municipality.
The draft regulation foresees that new businesses will be exempted from municipal tax in the first year.
Business entities registered in the name of women also benefit from a 50 percent discount in the first two years after establishment.
KOHA has reported that within this regulation, a tax of 10 euros is foreseen for each citizen who is not a resident of the capital, and who enters the center by vehicle. In addition, there is a tax of 1 euro for those who do not enter by vehicle, but spend the night in Pristina.
The municipality of Pristina has announced that public consultations on the draft regulation are open until June 24, during which the interested parties can present their remarks and proposals.
