The governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) participated in a dinner and took photos with funk impresario Rodrigo Inácio de Lima Oliveira, from GR6 Explode, arrested on Tuesday (15) in Operation Narco Fluxo, from Federal Policewhich looked at a money laundering scheme for the PCC (First Command of the Capital).
“Our country would be much better if we had more people like you. What a f…!”, wrote Oliveira on Instagram, at the time, when publishing a series of photos with the governor.
The dinner took place on August 12 last year, at the Latino singer’s house. The musician, a supporter of the governor, sought to bring Tarcísio closer to businesspeople in the entertainment industry and other sectors. Lamb and wine were served.
The governor’s office confirmed to the Sheet that Tarcísio went to the dinner at Latino’s invitation.
The note from Palácio dos Bandeirantes also says that, “as a public figure, the governor encounters dozens of people every day who request photos during their appointments, and it is not possible to check the legal records of each of them in real time.”
According to the PF, Operation Narco Fluxo had the objective of “dismantling a criminal association focused on the illicit movement of values using cryptoactives in Brazil and abroad”.
Oliveira and other funk entrepreneurs were targets of the operation due to the suspicion that they would manage artists who would hide trafficking values.
The main targets of Tuesday’s action were musicians MC Ryan and MC Poze do Rodo, whose defenses deny the accusations. “The financial volume handled by the group exceeds R$1.6 billion,” said the PF. Oliveira’s defense disputes the accusation, saying that the businessman’s transfers to the other targets of the operation referred to payments resulting from his musical activity.
More than 200 federal police officers carried out 45 search and seizure warrants and 39 temporary arrest warrants, issued by the 5th Federal Court in Santos. Oliveira’s arrest was confirmed by the Sheet with your defense.
At the time of the meeting between Tarcísio and Oliveira, the governor was considered a possible candidate for the Presidency. “What an honor to be able to welcome our (who knows!) future president and current governor of SP here at home on such a pleasant night, alongside friends and businesspeople. Although Tarcísio denied it, his allies, at the time, saw meetings of this nature as attempts to make his presidential candidacy viable, in an approach with possible supporters — the governor was criticized by Bolsonarists.
A week earlier, on August 7, the governor had gone to Brasília and visited the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who was under house arrest and, on the same day, alongside opposition governors, gave a speech demanding government action Lula (PT) against the tariff imposed on Brazil, in that period, by donald trump.
In December, Bolsonaro nominated his eldest son, senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), as its candidate, and Tarcísio reaffirmed that he would run for re-election in São Paulo.
Oliveira tried to enter politics in 2016, when he was a candidate for councilor in the capital of São Paulo for the now-defunct PSL (a party that merged with DEM in 2021 to form União Brasil) and, in 2024, he asked for votes for Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in São Paulo.
The businessman is defended by criminal lawyers José Luis Oliveira Lima and Bruno Dallari Oliveira Lima.
By means of a note, its defense states that “within the scope of Operation Narco Fluxo, the values and financial transactions mentioned refer to legal and regular commercial relationships, inherent to the company’s business activity, all duly formalized and supported by contracts and tax documentation”.
“GR6 and its partner reiterate that no illegal act was committed and remain at the disposal of the competent authorities, fully cooperating with the investigation and providing the necessary clarifications”, the text continues.
“Rodrigo Oliveira and GR6 also reaffirm their commitment to legality, transparency and ethical and responsible conduct of their activities”, concludes the note.
