Among others, Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, is traveling to Nuuk to mark the opening of the country’s new consulate.
During the visit, according to Sermitsiaq, the foreign minister will meet with Greenland’s minister for foreign affairs, Vivian Motzfeldt.
On Thursday, Anita Anand held a meeting with Denmark’s foreign minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen (M).

The British monarch’s representative in Canada, Governor General Mary Simon, will also attend the official opening of the consulate.
At the same time, she will meet with the Greenlandic government leader, Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
France’s plans to open a consulate were revealed by President Emmanuel Macron when he visited Greenland last June.
At the time, he emphasized France’s ambition to get closer to the Greenlandic people.
