The British monarch’s representative in Canada, Governor General Mary Simon, will also attend the official opening of the consulate.

France’s plans to open a consulate were revealed by President Emmanuel Macron when he visited Greenland last June.
At the time, he emphasized France’s ambition to get closer to the Greenlandic people.
