The People’s United Party (PUP) has officially closed its application process for prospective candidates seeking to contest the March 3, 2027 Municipal Elections. The Party said it attracted 115 applications from across the country.
Of those applications, 15 were submitted by persons seeking mayoral candidacies, while 100 were from individuals interested in running for town or city council positions across Belize’s nine municipalities.
With the application period now closed, the party’s National Campaign Committee will begin the vetting process for all applicants. Following that review, the National Executive will meet to deliberate and make final decisions on the candidates who will advance.
