In commemoration of the 100th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, who would have turned a century old on April 21, a festive reception was held at Buckingham Palace. The queen died in 2022, but her memory lives on.
Princess Katrín attracted special attention for her refined and symbolic clothing for the occasion. She has been known for choosing clothing and jewelry with a meaning, and now there was no exception. She wore a three-layer pearl necklace that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth.
The necklace is believed to be the same one worn by the Queen in her last public appearance. According to Tatler magazine, Katrín has previously worn the necklace, including shortly after the Queen’s death. Katrín also wore pearl drop earrings from Bahrain, which the Queen received as a gift in 1947.
The dress Katrín wore was light purple with sleeves that reached just below the elbows. It is from the British designer Emilia Wickstead, who is Katrína’s favorite. The color of the dress is also a reference to the queen, but she usually wore light purple.
The light purple dress went well with the occasion.
