The members of Commune 420, a group that manages the space for tolerance and consumption of marijuana installed in the roundabout of the Monument to Simón Bolívar, in the Guerrero neighborhood, said that they have not been notified about any possible relocation.
The above, after neighbors requested the Head of Government, Clara Brugada, to remove this consumption point, on April 8.
Ruby, a member of Commune 420, stated that the use of the roundabout for marijuana consumption is agreed with the Government of Mexico City.
“These spaces are already allowed by the Government, any movement that was made or that there was this type of thing, we received a document and we have not received any document as such, so, as is, we cannot worry until it arrives,” he declared.
After leading an event in the Guerrero neighborhood, neighbors approached the head of government to ask that the Commune 420 point be removed, to which she responded: “I am taking this issue right now and I am happy to see it, we are going to remove it.”
In an interview with EL UNIVERSAL, Ruby assured that if the point is removed, the authorities must offer them another place.
“If the Government asks us to move, it also has to provide us with another space, of course, if any type of movement is being requested,” he said.
The activist said that the members of the group do not carry out any marijuana trading activities in the place and that the residents of the Guerrero neighborhood who ask that space 420 be removed are criminalizing them.
